Breast Form Fitting
How we can help you
At Mind Body Bedroom Breast Form & Garment Clinic, we recognise that life after breast surgery involves more than physical healing alone. It is also about restoring comfort, confidence, and a sense of self. Mind Body Bedroom exists because we recognise that no two women are the same and fitting breast forms and garments is deeply personal work that requires time, privacy, sensitivity and care, rather than a small change room or rushed retail environment.
Led by a highly experienced Breast Care Nurse Specialist, our clinic provides a private, respectful, and supportive space designed to care for the whole person: mind, body, and the intimate relationship we have with our changing bodies. Every fitting is approached with sensitivity, respect, and an understanding that recovery is both physical and emotional.
We recognise that everybody — and every surgical journey — is unique. For this reason, our fittings are never rushed. Each appointment includes a thorough assessment and precise measurements to ensure the most appropriate fit for breast forms and everyday garments. Our aim is to support balance, comfort, and wellbeing for women following mastectomy, lumpectomy, or reconstructive surgery, through care that is grounded in expertise, compassion, and dignity.
Medicare Rebates of up to $400 per form may apply post breast cancer surgery.

A silicone breast form fitting is recommended 6–8 weeks after surgery or once healing is complete. For a contact breast form (one that adheres to your skin) please allow up to 6 months post-surgery for a fitting. In the meantime, temporary soft forms — such as Knitted Knockers or Amoena Priforms can be worn immediately post-surgery for comfort and symmetry under clothing.

Selecting a breast form is a personal and important decision after breast surgery. It’s essential to consult with a certified breast form fitter, like myself, who can assess your individual needs, surgical history, body shape, and lifestyle.
During your private fitting appointment, we’ll take the time to discuss your preferences, trial different shapes, sizes, and styles, and find the breast form that feels comfortable, looks natural, and restores your confidence. We’ll also try a selection of garments to ensure your chosen breast form fits securely and works beautifully with your wardrobe.
Whether you need a lightweight leisure form, a swimming prosthesis, or a premium silicone form for daily wear, I’ll support you in finding the right solution to suit your lifestyle.

An external silicone breast form is a weighted prosthesis, made of silicone, which is designed to simulate natural breast tissue. Because this type of breast form is weighted, it may help your posture, prevent shoulder drop, and provide breast symmetry post-surgery.
External breast forms provide choice. Some days you may want to wear them and other days you may not and that is completely okay to.
